New Yankee Workshop Episode 2110

In this episode (originally aired in 1997), building a hat rack, Norm used the following tools:

Items in bold represent the first appearance of that particular tool.

Norm made shoulder cuts on the table saw, as he's done many times, but this time without the aid of the stop block—he merely registered the stock on the cut mark.

Norm took the freshly bent pieces into the kitchen to place in the oven to dry. In light of the thorough tour of the Morash's kitchen as part of the Kitchen Cabinets series in Season 20, we now know that the oven was in Russ and Marion's kitchen.

In an interesting departure from the, er, norm, the safety speech began, “whether using hand tools or power tools…”

The safety speech included video of a crosscut operation on the radial arm saw—oblique view.

Field trip was to Mike Dunbar at his Windsor Institute, Hampton, New Hampshire.

New material for this project filmed on 16 July 2008.

This episode was processed based on the full length original broadcast by PBS.
