New Yankee Workshop Episode 1904

In this episode, building Martha's Candlestand, Norm used the following tools:

Items in bold represent the first appearance of that particular tool.

Norm built a couple of interesting fixtures to allow a router (or the router table) to handle some work. One, of course, was used in an earlier candle stand project. He also built a pair (left and right) to allow the legs to be rounded over after having been tapered. The third was a huge attachment for the lathe to hog out material from the candlestand top (link above).

It was nice to see a sanding station used after a long layoff (Season 15), although it's a brand new one that's been sitting unfeatured in the shop since early Season 17.

The safety speech included video of an operation on the router table (wide board).

Field trip to George Washington's home, Mt. Vernon, Virginia.

Project filmed 2, 4 May 2006.

This episode was processed based on the full length original broadcast by PBS.
