In this episode, building an Irish hutch, Norm used the following tools:

Items in bold represent the first appearance of that particular tool.

Norm used a plain board clamped to the Unifence as a sacrificial fence.

This is the final appearance of the Bostich N60FN finish nailer after a storied reign. The companion T-31 brad nailer has one last gasp at the end of the next season.

The safety speech included closeup video of a ripping operation on the contractors saw with a push stick, but not before making a pass on the jointer and a cut on the tablesaw. Also, he prefaced the speech by saying, “before we go any further with the power tools…”

Norm used a block of wood called a caul to take the bow out of a piece of his antique pine. I don’t believe I’ve seen him use one before, much less describe it.

Field trip was to Mayacamas Vineyards, Mt. Veeder, California.
