New Yankee Workshop Episode 1509

In this episode, building a flag pole, Norm used the following tools:

Items in bold represent the first appearance of that particular tool.

We don't see circular saws (other than the P-C Trim Saw) that often at NYW—in this episode we got to see two!

Interesting application of the edge guide—it wasn't used as an edge guide—it was used to provide a broader support base for the rounding over of the corners of the flagpole.

The safety speech included video of an operation on the router table (finger slip).

Field trip was to Nantucket, Massachusetts (twice). One trip was to see an installed pole, the second was for the installation of the completed project, perhaps at Russ Morash's home.

A third Field trip was to Larry Stearns' copper shop in Westford, Vermont. He's a longtime contributor to This Old House. We got a demonstration of metal spinning while there.

This episode was processed based on the full length original broadcast by PBS.
