New Yankee Workshop Episode 2104

In this episode (originally aired in 1997), building a tiger maple washstand, Norm used the following tools:

An infrequent no-new-tool episode.

An odd variation on sequence—after the field trip the shop scene opened with Norm resawing on the Hitachi, before not only the safety speech, but before the usual “this is how I did it” segment.

Yep, two different random orbit sanders. I missed the P-C in the first several times watching the original episode—it might have been edited out of the HGTV version I have. Update: it was. The HGTV version is missing the sanding of the scroll work—both with the STAR OSS and the P-C.

Norm used a plain board clamped to the Unifence as a sacrificial fence.

The safety speech included video of a crosscut operation on the radial arm saw—oblique view.

Field trip was to Stanley and Jacqueline Levine's (local antique collecters) residence, Savannah, Georgia.

New material for this project filmed on 16 July 2008.

This episode was processed based on the full length original broadcast by PBS.
