For the first two episodes of Season Two, a warning chyron appeared on screen concerning the use of a blade guard when operating a table saw. What has become the ubiquitous "...let's talk about shop safety," and concluding with "...to wear these, safety glasses," began with the first episode in Season Two.

The safety speech included video of an operation on the contractors saw.

Norm didn't use the scraper to remove glue—he used it to remove a waxy coating on the recovered cypress before running it through the planer.

Field trip was to the Adirondack Museum, Blue Mountain Lake, New York.
