New Yankee Workshop Episode 2009

In this episode, the Finish and Install in the Kitchen Cabinets project, Norm used the following tools:

The P-C compact belt sander is probably the final new tool in the whole NYW series. As it turns out, it was the last new product featured, but the final new episode (2013, Queen Anne Tap Table) showed the use of a sand blasting rig which seemed like it might have been around for a while. New to the series but not a featured new product—however you want to parse that.

The framing square was seen and had clearly been used but was not actually demonstrated in this episode. An interesting tool seen in the first 30 seconds and for the first time was the transit and tripod Norm had used to set a level line around the kitchen. It was not actually demonstrated, so I'm not planning on adding it to the tool list or preparing a file for it—done.

The safety speech included video of an operation on the router table (wide board).

The entire episode was a field trip to Russ Morash's house in Massachusetts. There was no shop time (and hence, no Unisaw, DJ20, drill press, etc.).

A field trip of sorts was out back to Morash's garage which had been fitted out as a paint shop for the cabinetry.

Project filmed 24, 26 July 2007.

This episode was processed based on the original broadcast by PBS.
