I have decided his tack hammer actually looks like an antique. This is a recent find on ebay and it's not too far off. It first appeared in Episode 413 (Ladder Back Chair) and now again, fifteen years later, in 1913 (Window Bench).
This hammer (bottom) seems a little more refined than the hammer I have and the $10 specials that are usually seen at the borg or in the hardware stores. He used one similar to this on the Cigar Chair (1505).
