This is a big brute of a router. It is an industry standard among fixed base 3¼ hp routers.
When Norm built his router table (Episode 813), he installed the 7518 in it, never to be seen again in the light of day until he built the new and improved table in Episode 1501. Then, back in the hole.
It was first used hand-held on the dovetail jigs and my impression at the time was (to paraphrase John Wayne in True Grit) too much gun. The router table, however, is the perfect implementation for it.
