Norm uses this nice little trim saw a lot. I don't know that there was anything wrong with the Makita that this replaced; perhaps it has better balance with the worm drive.
Sometime around 2003 Porter-Cable repackaged the 314 in a commemorative kit of some sort, part of which was a polished body. The use Norm made of the 314 in Episode 1710 sported that polished look.
